Description of the tool
This tool displays specific details about a feature when the mouse is paused over it on your map.An Adhoc Query or an Advanced Search allows you carry out advanced searches on complex datasets, or to search on fields that have not been set-up in the Search Panel. *** Is this correct? ***
As with standard searches from the Search Panel, the search works on the Active Layer (the selectable layer). The features that meet your specified criteria will be highlighted on the Map Window.
The query options will be configured by your Weave System Administrator and will be available by a button on your Weave application.
How to use the tool
Prerequisite:
None
Steps:
- Set the Active Layer to the layer you would like to search.
- Click on the down arrow the Adhoc Query button.
- Define the search parameters (using SQL) in the Advanced Search menu.
- Once you have constructed your search statement, use one of the buttons long the bottom of the panel. The buttons perform these functions:
New - This will create a new selection, and will replace any previous selections you had for the Active Layer.
Add - This will add the selected features to the existing selection set.
Remove - The features that result from the Search operation will be removed from the selection set for the Active Layer.
Refine - All bar the selected features will be removed from the selection set.
Cancel - Closes the Advanced Search menu without running any searches.
