Description of the tool

This tool allows you to define an area on the map that you would like to view in more detail (zooming in) by clicking a point or dragging a rectangle.

How to use the tool

Prerequisite:

None

Steps:
  1. Press the Zoom In tool.


  2. Place the mouse cursor at a map location and hold the left mouse button down to drag the rectangle over the map. Release the mouse button to define the rectangle for the geographic area of interest.



  3. The map extent will update to show the geographic area defined by the rectangle.

 

TIP:

You can also change the map view at any time using the scroll wheel on your mouse - roll the mouse wheel away from you to zoom in.
